Often I am contacted to conduct a funeral service for someone who has not yet passed away.
This is VERY difficult - not to meet them and their family, that part is such a privilege and a very special thing indeed…
It is after they are gone that is the hard part.
Today I farewelled a beautiful, strong, determined, kind, funny, successful, loving woman who was adored by her family & friends, loved and respected by everyone who knew her.
Lynette 'Joy' Curtin is now one of the biggest inspirations in my life.
Her courage and strength to fight her illness amazed me.
Her ability to keep on going without every complaining astounded me.
Her selfless nature in wanting all of her funeral arrangements taken care of so as to decrease the burden on her family when the time came made me feel so encouraged.
Encouraged to always do my best. To always care for others regardless of my own problems.
To love without prejudice and to fight. Fight hard.
Thank you Joy, for everything you gave to me and taught me.
I will never forget you.
